Amateur ichthyology in Vancouver: 2008 flashback
Return: summer 2008
In the summer of 2008, Dimitri (and later Vaso) and I spent about a month in my hometown of Vancouver. At that time, we were writing my PhD and living with my sister and brother. This is memorable because my son loves to fish and loves to watch fish.
I am sharing some photos, mostly personal but I think you get the idea. An 11-year-old child should learn about the wonders of the water world in this way. We are richer for it.
English Bay Fish - West Vancouver

Short Fishing on Costa Creek - West Vancouver

The dogfish we didn't catch requires special gear and is being caught by anglers east of Keats Pier. |
Seymour Valley and Seymour River - North Vancouver

And one last photo of my sadly lost friend, Volker Badegum, who died in 2018. We used to go to these swimming holes in Seymour when we were students... We miss you Volker! |
